Recently photographer Tom Bol wondered if zoom lenses allowed him to rely on point-and-zoom instead of moving into the right spot for a better composition, so he decided to find out. On his most recent trip to Patagonia, he decided to leave all his zoom lenses at home and carry only NIKKOR prime lenses: the 20mm f/1.8, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.4, 105mm f/2.8 and 300mm PF f/4. Here he photographed a gaucho at a sheep ranch outside El Calafate with the D810 and AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G lens. Learn more about his experiment: http://bit.ly/2tl0Hec.
