I’ve been using the K&F Concept 65cm octagonal softbox for several weeks now in my studio, and I’m genuinely impressed with it. I can set it up and take it down in just a few seconds, which is such a relief during busy shoots. It feels sturdy too; the ribs and locking system feel solid and don’t wobble or feel flimsy like some cheaper softboxes I’ve tried in the past. The light quality is beautiful. The double diffusion layers produce a lovely, soft, even light that wraps around the subject really nicely. The silver interior helps bounce the light effectively without creating harsh hotspots. I also appreciate that it comes with a grid, which is great when I need to control spills and direct the light more precisely, especially for dramatic or moody portraits. I just wish the inner baffle also had a silver beauty dish insert. The standard Bowens mount makes it compatible with all my lights, and it locks in securely. The construction feels durable enough for regular studio use. While it’s not the lightest option for travel, it’s perfect for a home or professional studio setting. One thing I’d note is that in larger spaces or for full-body shots, you’ll probably want to pair it with a reasonably powerful light (like 300W or more) to really get the most out of it, but that’s typical for a softbox this size. My sample images above are with the Neewer Q6 600W strobe light. Overall, this softbox has become one of my go-to modifiers. It’s well-designed, easy to use, and gives me the soft, flattering light I need for portraits and still life.
