Look, listen and enjoy this wonderful selection of “colourful” black and white images from outstanding 1x photographers.

The black and white vs colour debate is a very personal debate.  Some photographers much prefer the vibrancy of colour photography.

Many fine art photographers prefer black and white images for their tendency to distance the subject matter from reality. Humans see the world in colour, and a rendition of the world in monochrome makes us pause and look closely. Removing colour from a picture helps the viewer to focus on a subject’s emotional state.

The creative process with black and white images is like moulding clay, one can shape it into a myriad of shapes.  Black and white images can be strong, high contrast and powerful – or they can be so soft, gentle and subtle.

I lost my heart and soul in black and white photography. It gives me the feeling that I can better communicate and convey emotions, thoughts and feelings.

Black and white is less of an aesthetic, but more of a feeling.

A statement that most of the black and white photographers will agree with.
All images from the video can be admired here under.

It was hard to make a selection between so many excellent moody shots in the 1x galery.
