Who likes tree swings as much as I do?
****New FAERIELAND!
It's been a full year since I've posted for this board and it's finally time. I hope you guys are excited!
This piece is so dear to me, having it come with me through the last year. I feel as if its completion is maybe a testament to perseverance and loving my work, my loving this board enough to hold on and stick with it, no matter the background obstacles. And so I hope you love it as I do. And I'm so grateful for you all, for following this storyboard. There are 5 more pieces coming that have been waiting far too long on my computer.
Background information about this image:
Well, in 2012, I spent a great deal of timing living in Scotland, my favorite area being Isle of Skye. Scotland is a large part of my heritage and I consider it a second home. I wanted to use her land, particularly this area on Isle of Skye as the background for this piece. I used the Faerie Glens and one of their most famous land formed monuments.
The editing was absolutely grueling on this; Her hair, though a bit small to see online, is actually woven with gold leaf and I even researched floral patterns of the time period she's placed within and inlaid flowers to her garment. I also love interweaving animals into the board in subtle ways. The lamb(s) in this, hidden Wolverine faces in 'Fawn(a)' and a tiny Falcon in 'Falcon' | This character is one of the first in the board. She's known as The Maiden (also appearing in "The Maiden by Moonlight" and 'First Light') and I believe this is her last appearance, so I hope you love her and this.
