New Dust Bowl, which I so hope you enjoy --
Absolutely all my love to the amazing person (my best friend) in this photo. 6 years of friendship behind the scenes really make it a pleasure to photograph her. There's a sense of trust in a long friendship that allow pieces like this to come into existence. I'm so grateful for that.
In my career, one thing I try to hold very true to when photographing someone, is just to make an honest portrait, & to step myself out of the way so that i can relay what's being shown. It's my job to direct & to pull & to master my ability to do that, but it is not my job to change the person in front of the lens. For Dust Bowl especially, I want the intimacy that comes from keeping that piece of intent at the forefront of my mind.
