Jon StallingsTook another lunch break with the camera. I headed over the few blocks to the Fairlie- Poplar Historic district when I met Chip (or as he told me Chip off the old block) He asked me to take his picture. I told him twice I did not have anything for him but he insisted that I take his pic. I took a few minutes to get to know him. He came to Georgia with his mom after his mom and dad got a divorce. He was just 7. He did not go into detail of how he wound up on the streets. I asked him if he had gone to any of the local churches. He said he stays in a shelter on occasion but he prefers to stay on the streets. He was in a fight last night. I took a couple of shots and then I prayed with him. He asked if I would hold his hand as I prayed. I gladly obliged. It easy to judge Chip but if we are honest but for the grace of God we are all a thin line away from that life.
