sometimes you envy
the bath salts -
the way they hit the water,
sink out of sight,
dissolve and disappear
and leave behind only
tiny, shimmering bubbles
sitting effortlessly on the surface,
tension below them ignored
as they slowly pop,
one by one,
quietly slipping
out of existence.
