I thought it was about time this went onto the blog.
In about 1983 I was shooting a calendar about unusual views of Yorkshire and that’s how I ended up on The Humber Bridge, at the time it was the longest bridge of its type in the world. And thats how I ended up on it in 2013 shooting for Imagesource. We were kindly given almost unlimited access from the very top to the really scary dark depths of the southern anchourage where 16000 cables are held down to a 24m thick concrete slab. Almost in complete darkness this huge space seems to resonate to the massive weight of the bridge. Its a restricted area with its own climate and we had to lower the gear on ropes down into the abyss. Imagery is for sale through Imagesource.
