After the sun has set, in the quiet streets of Vientiane, one might hear a low, murmuring chant from behind the walls of Wat Si Saket. On festival evenings, monks from the monastery carry orchids and chrysanthemums in a candlelit procession, before offering prayers at the temple.⠀
