Gavin Gough“A woman’s work is never done.” Certainly in Tangra, where water has to be carried through a maze of narrow alleyways to the family home, that proverb seems accurate. It’s typically the young women who are responsible for ferrying heavy buckets back and forth.
I’m not sure you’d find me smiling in these circumstances. Providing water for a family often requires multiple trips to and from the water truck and I’d estimate that each load is 20–30kg.
